Darren Baker | QED Wealth Management

Darren has over 24 years experience working as a financial planner; initially with a high street bank and then from 1990 as a director of a regional financial services and accountancy firm. Upon the sale of this firm in 1998 to a FTSE listed company, Darren set-up his own wealth management practice where he now provides a personalised Financial Planning and Investment Management service to a select number of clients. He has particular expertise in advising owners of SME’s, especially family businesses.

Darren is one of an elite group who hold the “Chartered Financial Planner” and “Certified Financial Planner” qualifications, as well as many other investment, pension, taxation, financial planning, legal and trust credentials. In 2007 Darren was awarded “Elite Adviser” status in recognition of his outstanding performance & dedication to the highest standards of professionalism.

Passionate about his client’s financial well-being, Darren is highly critical of the generally poor standard of investment advice and ongoing service provided by a predominantly sales-driven investment industry.

In 2008 he joined forces with the heads of other leading UK firms to form the Evidence Based Investment Group (EBIS.) An academic investment group, EBIS has attracted critical acclaim from the financial media and investment industry and is now a trusted source of investment expertise. Darren was appointed Chairman of EBIS 2010/11.

Darren likes to keep fit and competes in endurance, swimming and triathlon events (well, he turns-up anyway.) Other interests, children's schedules permitting, include; spending time with family & friends, diving, walking, cycling, wildlife, reading, gardening, live music, golf, most other sports and anything that is different and/or a challenge. Darren’s passions are: his family, friends and getting the most out of life. His pet hates are: pessimists, the “herd mentality” and most adverts on TV.

Anita Gatehouse | cre8 Financial & Business Planners

As principal of cre8 Financial & Business Planners, Anita Gatehouse is passionate about delivering great financial planning solutions. For 18 years she has helped address her clients' financial issues with a professional, caring, down-to-earth approach. Her focus is always on the end result - how to help clients use their financial resources to take control of their lives and look after the people and things they care about.

Anita worked for many years for investment and insurance institutions before deciding to help clients directly. She works with widows and divorcees who - with her guidance - are empowered to find their way through the complex world of personal finance. She also works with successful company directors who are often too busy running their business to focus on planning for themselves and their families.

Anita is a member of the Institute of Financial Planning and a qualified financial planner. She is currently studying for further qualifications.
